"How could we ever thank you? Your professional expertise and passion for veterinary medicine saved our Laney's life. Your work ethic ensured us that she was getting diligent care even as we slept. Your personal compassion helped us to easily deal with a family emergency even as the days turned into weeks. There is no question that we are happily reunited with our precious dog because all of you welcomed us and understood that it was your awesome responsibility to get us all together back home. Thank you for making Laney healthy again!"

Internal Medicine

Dr. Kevin Wallace received a DVM from Cornell University in 1997. He completed his Internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the Southwest Specialty Center in Tucson AZ, and his residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine at Cornell University in 2002. Dr. Wallace left a clinical position at Cornell University in 2003 to head our Internal Medicine Service.  Dr. Wallace was admitted as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2005.

Small Animal Internal Medicineis a discipline of veterinary medicine which deals with diagnosing and treating small animal internal diseases such as those involving stomach and intestine, kidneys, bladder, endocrine (thyroid and diabetes), liver, and respiratory conditions in dogs and cats. Other specialized areas of internal medicine concentrate exclusively on areas such as cardiology, neurology, and oncology (cancer). At VMC, Dr. Wallace performs many non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including video endoscopy, bronchoscopy, rhinoscopy, and colonoscopy and provides care for patients with complicated chronic or acute diseases.

The Internal Medicine Team: The internal medicine team consists of Licensed Veterinary Technicians and Assistants who provide the ultimate in care and compassion for every patient. Internal medicine patients receive a tremendous level of diagnostic and therapeutic care, and are frequently monitored by our internal medicine service for the duration of chronic or complex diseases.  Because of this long-term contact, our members of our medicine service become deeply attached to their patients, and often keep in touch with these pet owners even after care is no longer needed.
